Dr. Britt Culver
Dr. Britt Culver is a Wyoming native and attended the University of Wyoming for his undergraduate training. He then graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He pursued advanced training in internal medicine, spending one year at Purdue University and three years at Virginia Tech. He is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine as a small animal internal medicine specialist. After his residency in 1996, he and his wife moved to Helena Montana and opened Montana Veterinary Specialists and General Care. In addition to small animal internal medicine, Dr. Culver also has a special interest in oncology and ultrasound. Since the fall of 2011, he has also been employed by Abaxis Veterinary Reference Laboratory as an internal medicine consultant.
In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Culver loves to spend time with his family. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors, whether that be on a golf course or in the mountains.
Dr. Brenda Culver
Dr. Brenda Culveris an Alaska native. She is a graduate of Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She spent an additional year at Purdue University in advanced training in small animal medicine and surgery. She has a strong interest in ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology.
In addition to Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Brenda enjoys spending time with her family. She loves spending time outdoors in nature and is an avid tennis player.
Dr. Sarah Brown Wheasley
Dr. Sarah Brown is a 2017 graduate of the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Michigan, she completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and headed to the Rocky Mountains for veterinary school. Following graduation, she completed an internship in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency and critical care at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Brown moved to Montana with her dog Joey and handsome cat Weez. They are all delighted to be back in the Rockies and are looking forward to many weekends in the mountains. In her spare time, Dr. Brown enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, and spending time with loved ones. She feels privileged to join the team at Montana Veterinary Specialists and looks forward to creating many memorable friendships.
Dr. Mattie Weber
Dr. Maggie started with MVS in 2018. She graduated from WSU Collage of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. She practiced in Washington Stare in emergency medicine for 20 years before moving to Montana & going into general practice in 2002. At one time she and her husband had 10 blue heelers & 6 cats. Never again! She enjoys riding ATV’s, kayaking, floating rivers/lakes & BBQ.
Breanna has been at MVS since 2017. She started with us while attending Carroll College, joining us full-time after graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthrozoology. She is currently working on her Vet Tech Certification. Originally from Colorado, her hobbies and interests include Irish Dancing, bowling, and attending MLB baseball games.
Erica joined MVS in 2019. She has a passion for veterinary & wildlife rehabilitation and is Fear Free Certified. She has lived in MT for 20 years & has always had an interest in the outdoors & animals. Her interest in Veterinary Medicine started in High School after several internships. She earned a degree in Fish & Wildlife Management to encompass her passions. She enjoys taking her Norwegian elkhound mix & cat into nature to explore.
Emma started with MVS shortly after moving here from New Zealand in 2007. When she’s not at MVS she is running her husband’s trucking company & raising their 3 boys. She enjoys travel, reading, gardening, fostering for the Humane Society & her every-varied animal menagerie which includes dogs, cats, hamsters and other small critters.
Jo joined MVS in 2018 while attending Carroll College. Since graduating with a degree in Anthrozoology she has joined us full-time & plans to apply to vet school. She volunteers as a Decoy for True North Search Dogs while pursuing training her own Labrador, Jasper, for search work. She is also currently volunteering as a dog trainer at SkyHi Kennels on weekends that she’s not hiking, camping or horseback riding.
Lacee has been a Vet Tech with MVS since 2016. During this time she had attended Continued Education Courses including CBD & Oncology, she looks forward to attending more in the future. She grew up on a farm outside of Miles City, MT, where her love of animals began. Later loves include her handsome soldier husband and their 2 wonderful boys. She enjoys taking her dogs on hikes in the mountains & camping.
Kara started with MVS in 2015 but has been a Vet Tech since 2008. She attended and completed many CE courses over the years including Radiology, Oncology, Dental & Nutrition. She lived in Alaska for a couple of years and in that time was able to experience traveling to many different Alaskan Islands to assist in veterinary care of many different animals. When she’s not working she enjoys hanging out with her husband, 2 dogs & 2 cats. She also enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, fishing & folfing.
Steph’s connection to MVS goes back to her childhood, but she joined us as a full-time employee in 2017. She has a Bachelor’s Degree of Animal Science from Montana State University and has worked on sheep & goat farms. She is currently working towards her Vet Tech Certification. She has 2 dogs & 1 cat. She is Helena raised & enjoys hiking, four wheeling, boating and other outdoor activities.
